PKP Foundation Expected Producing Smart Generation

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama appreciated the development of students dorm in Pondok Karya Pembangunan (PKP) foundation at Jalan PKP, Kelapadua Wetan Urban Village, Ciracas, East Jakarta. 

We want  a public school indeed but the students are educated like in Islamic boarding school. It matches with Jakarta program

According to Basuki, the students who stay in the dorm could get a better study room. The development of the dorm will accommodate up to 2,000 students with its width is about 18 hectares.

"We want  a public school indeed but the students are educated like in Islamic boarding school. It matches with Jakarta program," said Basuki after inaugurating STIKES building and GOR of PKP foundation, Wednesday (4/8). 

Basuki disclosed, by developing the students dorm, the children could live with clear and well-organized education system. Even, through this dorm could change their intention to be better. 

"If they live in a dirty environment, many people throw waste carelessly and free smoking, It could influence the growth of the children. So they need an adequate education facility like in PKP. We hope it could produce the smart students, with the right, islamic and rahmatan lil 'alamin knowledege . And it will change concept of Indonesia in future," he added.

He mentioned, at this time there are still 40 percent of 16-18 year old uneducated children in Jakarta . It just because they are lazy. It should be handled immediately. 

The member of DPD RI, AM Fatwa who was also attending this event added, the location selected as the request of former Jakarta governor, Ali Sadikin who selected the 18 hectares width land as celebration heritage monument of national MTQ in 1972. 

"Formerly, Jakarta was the host of fifth National MTQ. Mr. Ali Sadikin then requested the land to be MTQ heritage monument that currently will be built as students dorm," he explained.
